Spam Hack Attempts via Email

Hack attempts are accelerating out there, and both you and I are the targets. The latest (I have received the same email multiple times), tries to get me to sign in on their site using my email login and password. Once they have obtained your email login/pw, they have the ability to cram through thousands or millions of spam emails across the world, all under your name.

Here is a clip of the latest email they are sending:

Dear Sales1 You are about exceeding your free data volume. Avoid mail subscription suspension,and email retrieval malfunction, by following below reference ALLOCATE MORE DATA TO sales1@ameriwebhosting.com (NOTE: This is actually a link to their site and not our control panel) We will not be responsible for any subscription suspension or email retrieval malfunction if after this warning no response from you.

Clues that indicate this is a bogus request, and not originating from AmeriWeb, include poor grammar, and the link goes to https:// akarsandik.com.tr/gosbone/baskingP.html instead of an AmeriWeb Hosting page.

If you receive an email, phone call, or text from someone claiming to be AmeriWeb Hosting, feel free to contact us to verify.

This is a good policy for ANY suspect contacts you receive, whether from us, FaceBook or any other 'source'.
